NOTICE OF 5 PROPOSED RULE-MAKINGS

 

1. Chapter 25.04 Lobster Trawl Limits:
The proposed rule would put exactly
what is currently in statute into rule instead.

2. Chapter 25.93(E)(4) Lower Limit of Tags replaces Lower Limit of Licenses:
The “lower limit of licenses” would be updated to
the “lower limit of tags” for compliance and consistency
with the recent statutory change.

3. Chapter 25.95(1)(F)(6) Violations:
This rulemaking proposes to remove the outdated reference to these regulations being a class D crime.

4. Chapter 25.97 Management Framework
for Island Limited Entry Program:
The proposed rules would establish the procedures the island communities would follow if they choose to implement
an island limited entry system.

5. Chapter 36.01(D)(2) Herring, Catch quota and effort restrictions:
The proposed rule creates a landing definition to close loopholes that allow harvest vessels to circumvent the intent of the ASMFC days out conservation measures.
