Is There a Future for Fishermen?
Join us at the Washington County Food Summit on March 12, 2016 for a day of conversation about our local food system. This event is sponsored by Healthy Acadia, your local Healthy Maine Partnership organization and will take place at Washington Academy in East Machias. The keynote presentation will focus on the connections between land and sea based food systems. Morning session topics will be on food access, fisheries diversification, land and sea marketing opportunities, processing and distribution infrastructures, and more. Sunrise County Economic Council will offer one-on-one sessions available for business consultations. Producers and fishermen are encouraged to attend; lunch will be provided and the first 20 fishermen/producers that register will receive a gas card. Registration will open in early January.
