Urchin Closure
Cat Ledges Area Southport

October 21 The DMR Advisory Council voted unanimously to implement a targeted sea urchin harvest closure in the Cat Ledges Area in order to facilitate an industry-ledge Pilot Sea Urchin Restoration Project. The closure will expire on May 1, 2018 when the project is anticipated to be complete. In addition, the council voted to remove the mesh size requirement for diver mesh bags. Both of these measures were approved as they had been originally proposed and will be effective on Monday, October 26, 2015.
