Salmon Shack

The Ames’ salmon shack originally at Northport, on Penobscot Bay, Maine. Three generations of the Ames family operated a salmon business out of this building. According to the Mystic Seaport Museum where the shack is now located, George Ames was the last commercial salmon fisherman in the area when he stopped fishing in 1947.
