Frank Jordan 1938 - 2010

Life-long fisherman and Winter Harbor resident, Frank Jordan died June 30, 2010, when another lobsterboat collided with his while fishing off Schoodic Peninsula in Winter Harbor.

Jordan’s boat, an early fiberglass Repco, was struck on the starboard side at the hauler and sank almost immediately. Lobsterboat collisions do happen, but sinkings from collisions are rare, and fatalities in collisions quite rare.

The Coast Guard is investigating the accident and has said it will likely be months before they issue a statement.
